A dramatic waterfall onto a rocky beach brings an afternoon of walking in native forest and coastal plain.
From the Palomarin Trail on southern Point Reyes, a one and a half hour walk to Alamere Falls will bring you past a chain of coastal lakes to a 50 foot cliffside waterfall onto the rocky Palomarin Beach. Surf crashes dramatically up to meet the falls on the exposed western facing coast. The trail is a fire road for most of the walk and the terrain is gently hilly. Arriving on a low tide it is possible to reach the beach and view the fall from below. The walk is a moderate tramp and well worth the 4 plus hour hike and picnic.
