From the San Francisco Examiner...

On a spontaneous road trip to the Point Reyes area, my fiance and I stumbled upon a charming bed and breakfast called The Abalone Inn. It sits up on a hill that affords wonderful views of the lush green mountains that border Tomales Bay. The house itself is a restored Victorian with a sunny welcoming feel, surrounded by bright flowers and shiny abalone shells.

The house has an interesting history that has been preserved and honored by by the inn's hosts, Donna Larkin and her son, Ian. Donna made us feel right at home, offering us a glass of wine and spirited conversation. She is a warm, gracious host, and the inn reflects this in all of its touches from the quilt on our bed, handmade by her grandmother, to the lovely wildflowers growing in the garden outside of our room.

From the San Francisco Chronicle...

My husband and I have just returned from five days in heaven: The Inverness/ PointReyes area... I want to recommend Donna Larkin's Abalone Inn. She has opened up her airy, pastoral 1916 home offering the rooms - one with a wonderful outdoor shower off the garden. She serves complimentary refreshments and great conversation for those who wish and is willing to accomodate a family.
